Delete your account
Last updated 14 July 2026
Deleting your account is permanent. Your wallets, transactions, budgets and everything else go with it, and we cannot bring them back — not even if you ask us the next day. If you only want to stop using Nomoo for a while, just sign out.
Delete it from the app (fastest)
- Open Nomoo and go to the Account tab.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Read what will be removed, then confirm — with your password, or, if you signed up as a guest, by typing your username.
- Tap Delete my account. It happens immediately and you are signed out.
Can't open the app?
You do not need it. Email privacy@nomooai.com from the email address on the account, with the subject "Account deletion request".
If yours is a guest account (username only, no email), send us your username and the one-time recovery code you were given at signup — that code is the only thing that proves the account is yours, and without it we have no way to tell you apart from anyone else asking us to delete it.
We verify the request and delete the account. Expect it to be done within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
- Your identity — name, email address, username, and your password. Erased immediately and irreversibly; the account stops identifying you at all.
- Your wallets and their balances.
- Every transaction, including the notes you wrote on them.
- Your budgets, recurring entries and categories.
- Your Nemo conversation — the stored chat memory.
- Your notifications and your devices' push registrations, so nothing can be sent to you again.
What happens to shared households
A household is shared, so it is not only yours to destroy:
- A household with other members in it keeps going. If you owned it, ownership passes to the member who has been in it longest, so nobody is locked out. The wallets and transactions in that shared workspace stay — they belong to the household, not to you.
- A household where you are the only member is deleted along with you, and its data with it.
What is kept, and for how long
Once your identity is erased, what remains in our database is a de-identified record that is no longer linked to any person. We keep it briefly to guard against accidental loss and abuse, and residual copies in our encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days. After that, nothing of your account remains.
One thing to do yourself
If you subscribed to Pro through the App Store or Google Play, deleting your Nomoo account does not cancel that subscription — only Apple or Google can. Cancel it in your store's subscription settings, or you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.
